The Process

Making a Munro + Sons

A short film documenting the traditional construction process of a truly handmade surfboard. Shaped by Brett, glassed by Richard McGarry.

This was is a special board, incorporating the pirate flag that flew high above the factory indicating prevailing wind direction for fifteen odd years. The Jolly Roger is symbolic of Munro + Sons defiance of the recent industry shift toward inferior, mass-produced imported boards that come up short on surfers' satisfaction and longevity.
